Who can register a .ca domain name?

To register a .ca domain name an applicant must have a connection to Canada. For details please refer to the Canadian Presence Requirements for Registrants.

How many .ca domain names can an individual or organization register?

Any qualifying individual or organization can register an unlimited number of .ca domain names.

To whom will a domain name be registered?

The domain name will be registered to the person or organization named in the Registrant field in CIRA’s database.

If there is more than one request for the same domain name, to whom will the name be registered?

.CA domain names are registered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can anything be registered as a domain name?

No. CIRA will accept only domain names that are admissible in accordance with CIRA's Policies, Rules and Procedures
