How to Re-certify
If you are a Registrar, you must apply to be re-certified on an annual basis. You must meet current certification requirements, be familiar with the current Registrant Agreement, and you cannot be in default of your obligations under the Registrar Agreement. Failure to be re-certified will result with the termination of the Registrar Agreement and loss of access to CIRA registry systems.
Re-certification application
Your application for re-certification must be received at least 30 days before the anniversary date of your current certification. You will be sent email re-certification reminders 60-days and 40-days before the current certification expires.
- Complete and submit the Registrar re-certification application.
- Have sufficient funds in the Registrar Deposit Account to cover the then-current re-certification fee (plus applicable taxes), The fee will be automatically debited from the account.
- Provide an updated Certificate of Corporate Status and any additional corporate documents requested by CIRA
CIRA processes applications in the order they are received. You will be notified by email whether or not you are re-certified
- If you are re-certified, re-certification takes effect on the anniversary date and the Registrar Agreement continues in full force and effect.
- If you are not re-certified, your re-certification fee will be refunded. When you are notified, you must immediately cease all of the activities associated with the role of Registrar. (For full details. see the Registrar Agreement.)
You may withdraw your application at any time before re-certification by emailing notice to CIRA. Your re-certification fee will be refunded, and your certification may expire on its anniversary date or earlier as determined by CIRA. You may apply for a new Registrar certification at a later date if you wish.
