CIRA seeking Member nominations and applications to its Board of Directors
OTTAWA – July 29, 2013 – The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) is asking its Members to take part in the exclusive Member-only Nomination period by nominating themselves or someone they know for the 2013 CIRA Board of Directors Election.
As a .CA Member, you are part of the building blocks of an organization that now, more than ever, represents Canadians online. Becoming a CIRA Board member is a unique opportunity to apply your skills and expertise to help build the Internet and ensure .CA remains an accessible, secure and trusted Canadian resource. It’s also a chance to work with Internet leaders to develop strategy and policy to ensure CIRA fulfills its mandate to deliver quality registry services.
We are looking for Canadians with governance experience and a background in the Internet or domain name industry, or other relevant technology. Expertise in one of the following areas would be an asset: auditing and accounting, risk management, and strategic planning.
Nominations and Applications
.CA Members can submit their nominations by completing the online nomination form before 6 p.m. ET on August 12, 2013.
Once nominated, Nominees will receive an email with a link to complete an online Nominee Application Form. This form must be submitted before 8 p.m. ET on August 12, 2013.
Final Slate of Candidates
To be included on the Final Members' Slate, Member Nominees must receive the support of at least 20 .CA Members. Members will be able to Show support from noon ET on August 21, until 6 p.m. ET on September 4, 2013.
The final slate of Candidates will be published on CIRA's Election website on September 9, 2013.
